Bangalore Palace: A Royal Echo in a Modern City

Image
Bangalore Palace   Bangalore is a city full of contrasts gleaming tech parks beside centuries-old trees, street food stalls across from glassy malls, and bustling roads leading to places where time seems to have paused. One such place is the Bangalore Palace. Step inside its gates, and suddenly, the city’s noise fades. What replaces it is a sense of grandeur, quiet dignity, and timeless beauty. Ranga Shankara: Where Theatre Breathes

Image
Ranga Shankara   Tucked away in the calm neighborhood of JP Nagar, Ranga Shankara is more than just a theatre. It’s a space where stories come alive—not just on stage, but in the hearts of everyone who walks through its doors. Established in 2004 as a tribute to the late actor Shankar Nag, this intimate, 300-seater auditorium has become the soul of theatre in Bangalore. Plays are performed here almost every evening, and they span languages, styles, and genres—from Kannada classics to bold experimental dramas, from Shakespeare to socially charged monologues. The best part? The ticket prices are intentionally kept low. Why? Because theatre, according to the vision of Ranga Shankara, should be accessible to all. It’s not about exclusivity—it’s about inclusion. You can come here with zero expectations, and leave deeply moved. That’s the magic. Bangalore is often seen as a tech city. And while that’s true, there’s also this quiet, powerful undercurrent of creativity flowing throug...

Why You Feel Drained After Scrolling

Image
Why You Feel Drained After Scrolling.?   We live in a world where connection is just a swipe away. With a single thumb flick, we can jump from someone’s vacation in Italy to a stranger’s heartbreak, to a viral dance, to breaking news, to a meme that makes us laugh out loud. Social media gives us access to everything, everywhere, all at once. But here's the strange thing: after spending just 10 or15 minutes scrolling, many of us feel… exhausted. Not physically, but mentally. We shut off the screen, stare at the ceiling, and wonder why we feel so hollow. Social media drains us not because of what we do on it, but because of how much we consume in a short amount of time. Our brains are built for linear, focused experiences conversations, books, real-life moments. But in the digital world, we experience emotional whiplash. In just a few minutes, we jump through dozens of emotional states: joy, envy, sadness, excitement, guilt, anger, curiosity, and more. We’re constantly comparin...

Bangalore Karaga: A Festival Steeped in Tradition and Devotion

Image
The Origins of Karaga The Bangalore Karaga is one of the oldest festivals in the city, with origins tracing back to over 800 years ago. It is associated with the Thigala community, believed to be the descendants of the warriors of the goddess Draupadi, the wife of the Pandavas from the Mahabharata. The festival is a celebration of Draupadi’s strength and symbolizes the victory of good over evil. According to legend, after the Mahabharata war, Draupadi is said to have taken on the form of Adishakti, the divine feminine energy, to restore order and protect the world from demons. The Karaga, a pot adorned with a floral pyramid and a small idol of the goddess, represents this divine energy. The Rituals and Celebrations The festival begins on the Chaitra Purnima, the full moon day in the Hindu month of Chaitra, and lasts for nine days.
